Right to Information Act, 2005
The Right to Information Act-2005 aims to ensure transparency and efficiency in the day-to-day operations of government, prevent corruption, make democracy more effective and empower citizens. The law is intended to provide information that will help raise awareness among the governing public about the role of governance and enable citizens to take government systems seriously. The RTI Act is a big step in making the general public aware of the workings of the government.
